From a Toaster Oven to Production: Tips and Tricks for Scaling Hardware
The first 200 SwitchBlox boards were assembled by hand using a modified toaster oven. Scaling beyond those early batches meant rethinking component sourcing, board layout and how we tested every unit. We share what that process taught us about designing hardware for production, including where customer feedback changed the design and when making a board smaller wasn’t worth the cost. These are practical lessons for moving from a handful of working boards to hundreds or thousands you can reliably manufacture.
